About the speaker
Maxwell Sim has been serving in sacred music ministry for the past fifteen years as a chorister, organist and music director. He has also worked with churc choirs in the Diocese of Sibu, Archdiocese of Kuching, Diocese of Melaka-Johore, and the Archdiocese of Kuala Lumpur in the areas of liturgy and sacred music as well as technical training in choral music As a musician, he has been section leader for the Sarawak State Symphony Orchestra Choir, the sub-principal Eb Horn with the Sarawak Symphony Orchestra, the Schola Cantorum of Kuching, and sung with the Canticle Singers for two seasons. He is currently attached to the Vox Suara, and Cantus Musicus choirs which specializes in contemporary and sacred music respectively. Mr Sim was also the adjudicator and technical advisor to various national level competitions and lectures on music performance in University Tunku Abdul Rahman as well as being Head of Music for a private school in Melaka from 2008 to 2012. He minored in choral conducting and singing while in undergraduate years and received initial training in liturgy from Rev Frs. Peter Ng and Francis Su. He was an assistant choirmaster under Yap Cheng May in SFX from 2016-17.
